HR Talent Associate | 3 months+ | hybrid (Harlem/Bronx/Inwood) | Charter School

Our client is looking for an HR Talent Associate for a 3 month+ temporary to permanent assignment. The role is Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week. Temporary pay rate is $28-$33/hr. This is a hybrid role, all candidates must be fully vaccinated and available to work 1-2 days per week in-person - school locations are Harlem, Inwood, and the Bronx (rest of the role can be done remotely.)

The organization is a charter school - this role gives recruitment and administrative support to a Director and has a lot of candidate interaction.

Staff Recruitment 

-Heavy candidate scheduling and follow-up.

-Actively promote the organization as a great place to work, building our “employer brand” with potential hires.

-Source, attract and screen top talent, including instructional staff, school-based staff, and network staff.

-Expand the sources of high-quality job candidates by building relationships with higher education institutions and advertising on a variety of platforms.

-Guide interviewers in best practices to mitigate bias and promote equity & inclusion.

-Prepare for and represent the organization at career fairs and other marketing venues.

 

Ensure Maintenance of Human Resource Tracking and Compliance Systems

-Ensure required compliance and other HR documentation is completed and on file (e.g. fingerprinting, verification of employment and education).

-Maintain and update confidential employee data, personnel forms, files and information, generating reports routinely and as requested.

-Update timesheets and maintain personal time off and sick time requests.

-Address the needs of current employees; record and refer critical/sensitive issues to the Talent Manager.

-Conduct new employee onboarding efforts and employee exit interviews as assigned.

-Promote desired organizational culture, job satisfaction and retention, including robust internal communications and experiences that reinforce our core values and foster cohesiveness.

Experience:

-Minimum of 2 years of human resources/talent experience, with an emphasis on detailed human resource tracking and compliance concerns.

-Experience working in an urban charter school network or another mission-driven, impactful non-profit organization strongly preferred.

-A track record of helping leaders find (and choose) the best talent. You have built a track record in previous organizations for being an effective, objective assessor of potential hires. 

Software: Greenhouse (can teach if have similar experience, Director learning it now too), Trnet (HR functions), Zoom, MS Office, GSuite. Need to improve how they use HR platforms to advertise – someone really savvy would be super helpful.

Temporary salary: $28-$33/hr.

Permanent salary: $60,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience and degree. Excellent benefits.

This role is a TEMPORARY TO PERMANENT position through TSS. You would be employed and paid by our company for the temporary portion and working directly with the client. Then it would turn permanent and you would be paid directly by the client.
