Hospital Services Specialist at medical non-profit organization | in-person

Our client, a medical nonprofit is looking for a Hospital Services Specialist to assist in maximizing organ and tissue donation outcomes.

This role is responsible for the implementation of strategies to increase referrals and improve performance outcomes in organ and tissue donation within the org’s service area. It fosters the culture of intradepartmental collaboration and cooperation necessary to maximize donation outcomes. You would maintains key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to initiate changes in practice to increase organ and tissue donation.

Job Description:

-Demonstrates ownership of the donation process and donation outcomes. Supports and fosters the mission, vision and core values of the org and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.

-Develops and implements marketing plans focused on the performance improvement process that ultimately increases organ and tissue donation. Works to decrease process barriers to donation and fosters a collaborative relationship with hospital partners.

-Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of hospital market to maximize donor potential and identify hospital protocols that support best practices for donation.

-Conduct educational needs assessment for assigned hospitals and develop and implement educational plan. Delivers professional education and lectures, functions as a spokesperson for the advancement of organ and tissue donation. Develop and conduct accredited educational programs for healthcare professionals.

-Establish multi-disciplinary councils within assigned hospitals, using peer level influence in order to forge a consensus about standards of practice for the donor referral and family request process.

-Identify and engage decision-making individuals (i.e. chairpersons of the medical staff, medical committee members, referring physicians and nurses, etc.) to support the donation process. in assigned hospitals including

-Collaborate with staff to attend Donor Council meetings and to implement marketing strategies that include conducting one on one meetings with physicians and hospital executives and disseminate data and information to critical care physicians and nursing staff to increase organ and tissue donation.

-Utilize superior customer service skills to develop and maintain relationships with referring physicians, nursing staff and medical and executive leadership in assigned hospitals.

-Advocates for the donation cause and instills confidence in the org’s services.

-Investigate and respond to customer service-related issues in assigned hospitals. Utilizes problem-solving skills to coordinate follow-up plans to process deviations and complaints. Is a viable member of the continual feed-back loop between hospital and OPO, performs timely after-action reviews following case activity, identifies inconsistencies to the agreed upon donation process.

-Makes recommendations to hospital policies and procedures to ensure hospital compliance with state and federal statutes and ultimately increase referral and donation outcomes.

-Participates in scientific research studies with the goal of publishing findings in professional journals.

-Establishes and maintains positive relationships with hospital personnel (i.e. CEOs, Administrators, Physicians, Department Directors, and Nurses). Utilizes these relationships to improve the culture of donation at assigned hospitals.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in marketing or related field and minimum three years' related experience and/or training in healthcare marketing/sales or OPO.

-Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and have an understanding of medical terminology.

-Good interpersonal skills.

-Use of personal car required.
