HR Generalist | Onsite | Direct Hire | Port Washington, NY
TSS is partnering with a distribution center to hire a full-time, onsite HR Generalist for a permanent position in Port Washington, NY.

The Details:
· Talent Acquisition: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for various roles. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent, collaborate with hiring managers to forecast staffing needs, and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
· Employee Relations, Conflict Resolution, and Manager Coaching: Address and resolve employee relations issues, such as disputes, grievances, and performance challenges. Provide conflict resolution support and coach managers on best practices for performance management, team dynamics, and resolving workplace conflicts.
· HR Compliance, Laws, and Regulations: Ensure company policies and practices are compliant with federal and state employment laws such as FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and other labor regulations. Advise management on compliance-related issues and monitor legal updates to revise policies and conduct training as needed.
· Payroll Administration: Oversee timekeeping and payroll systems, ensuring accurate tracking of employee hours and compliance with wage laws. Process payroll, handle deductions, and reconcile discrepancies. Utilize ADP or other HRIS platforms to generate reports, maintain compliance, and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
· Training Facilitation and Employee Engagement Programs: Design, implement, and facilitate training programs to improve employee performance, compliance, and professional development. Lead employee engagement initiatives and assess learning needs, ensuring successful integration of training into daily operations and measuring training effectiveness.
· Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Communicate HR policies, initiatives, and expectations clearly and effectively to employees at all levels. Build and maintain positive working relationships across departments and influence stakeholders to support organizational goals and HR initiatives.
· HR Metrics Analysis and Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze and interpret HR data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and recommend process improvements. Use data-driven insights to optimize HR processes and align with business objectives.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS Systems: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and presentation of HR metrics. Leverage HRIS systems to manage employee data, track performance, process payroll, and ensure compliance.
· Independent Work and Alignment with HR Leadership: Work independently, taking initiative to manage HR responsibilities while maintaining alignment with HR leadership on strategic goals and execution. Ensure successful implementation of HR initiatives in alignment with the company's objectives.
· Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and functions to ensure HR priorities are integrated with business needs. Foster communication and cooperation across departments to support organizational goals and enhance overall workplace effectiveness.
Requirements:
· Minimum 4 years of HR Generalist experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
· HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
· Strong understanding of HR practices related to shift-based workforces, labor management, and operational HR support.
· Proven ability to handle employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and resolve workplace conflicts.
· In-depth knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and state labor laws) with experience ensuring HR policies align with regulatory requirements.
· Experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding for hourly and salaried roles.
· Hands-on experience with payroll administration and timekeeping systems (ADP experience preferred).
· Experience developing and facilitating training programs, including compliance training, safety procedures, and professional development.
Compensation and Benefits
